The Opportunity

SYMCO Recycling Solutions Ltd. is looking for a proactive, mechanically capable and customer-focused Technical Project & Service Specialist to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on role combining technical project management, field service, equipment installation and commissioning, service coordination, and technical sales support.

You will work directly with customers, contractors, field technicians and SYMCO's equipment partners throughout North America, Europe and Asia. This is not a desk-only project management position — we are looking for someone who is comfortable managing a project, communicating with a customer and putting on PPE to get involved at a customer site.

What You'll Do

• Take ownership of equipment installations, service projects and commissioning activities.

• Act as a key SYMCO contact for customers throughout assigned projects.

• Coordinate customers, general contractors, subcontractors, technicians and equipment manufacturers.

• Manage schedules, site requirements, documentation, logistics and outstanding project actions.

• Work on-site alongside technicians and specialized trades, participating hands-on where appropriate.

• Support troubleshooting, equipment inspections, commissioning and customer training.

• Coordinate technical questions and solutions with our North American, European and Asian equipment partners.

• Support the sales team with site visits, measurements, equipment layouts, technical information and system development.

• Read and work confidently with mechanical drawings and equipment layouts.

• Identify potential problems early and take ownership of driving them toward resolution.

Customer-billable technical service and project work will be an important component of this position.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with approximately 2–5 years of relevant experience in an industrial, mechanical, manufacturing, equipment, construction, field-service or technical-project environment.

You should have:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in industrial equipment.

• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

• Strong organization and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• A proactive, resourceful approach to problem solving.

• The confidence to pick up the phone, ask questions, follow up and professionally push for answers when required.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.

• Willingness to work hands-on in industrial environments when required.

• A valid driver's licence and passport.

• Ability and willingness to travel throughout Canada and the United States.

Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software is strongly preferred.

Experience with recycling equipment, conveyors, shredders, balers, hydraulics, fabrication or other industrial machinery is an asset but not required.

Mechanical Designer & Project Manager

The Opportunity

SYMCO Recycling Solutions Ltd. is looking for a technically strong Mechanical Designer & Project Manager to support the design and delivery of recycling and material-processing equipment and systems.

This position combines SolidWorks mechanical design, system layouts, manufacturing drawings and project management. The successful candidate will work with SYMCO's customers, fabrication partners, contractors and equipment manufacturers throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

What You'll Do

• Develop equipment and complete processing-system layouts using SolidWorks.

• Create detailed fabrication, manufacturing and shop drawings.

• Develop assemblies, components, Bills of Materials and drawing packages.

• Produce customer site layouts, installation drawings, plan views and elevations.

• Integrate equipment from multiple manufacturers into complete processing systems.

• Manage drawing revisions, technical documentation and project files.

• Coordinate technical information with customers, suppliers, fabricators and contractors.

• Support projects from initial concept through manufacturing, installation and commissioning.

• Review supplier drawings and identify dimensional, manufacturing or integration issues.

• Provide technical support to fabrication and field-service teams.

• Manage assigned project requirements, schedules, outstanding information and deliverables.

What We're Looking For

• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and practical experience in a mechanical-design environment.

• Experience producing fabrication and manufacturing drawings.

• Ability to develop equipment and system layouts.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of how industrial equipment is manufactured and assembled.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.

• Strong organization and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

• Professional and proactive communication with customers, suppliers, contractors and team members.

• Ability to independently identify missing information, ask questions and follow issues through to resolution.

Experience with conveyors, recycling equipment, material-handling systems, fabrication, hydraulics or industrial machinery is an asset.
